The National FFA Organization was founded in 1928 as the "Future Farmers of America", by a group of farm boys who wanted to create a club that was centered on promoting agricultural knowledge. Since that time, the FFA has become a nation-wide student organization, and has had millions of members over the years. According to the mission statement, "FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education." The FFA provides agriculture education students with unique opportunities to develop leadership skills, meet new people, travel to new places, and open doors to future career pathways. The Ralls FFA Chapter was originally chartered by the Texas FFA Association in January of 1932. Ralls FFA is in the Lubbock District of the Area I FFA Association. We participate in a number of FFA activities at the Chapter, District, Area, State, and National levels. In order to become a member of the Ralls FFA Chapter, a high school student must be enrolled in at least one agriculture education class during the current school year. Junior membership is available to students in the third through eight grades who are interested in showing livestock.
